生活の中で数字を言葉で伝えることがあります。電話番号や住所を友たちに教える時、電話で問い合わせをするときに会員番号を読み上げるなどなど。簡単なルールを守れば、簡単に英語で数字を言えるようになります。
小数点は point と言う
日本では小数点のことを「コンマ」や「カンマ」といいますが、英語では point と言います。
タイトルの数字はルート３の1.732ですが、英語では
1.732 One point seven three twoと読みます。小数点以下は一桁ずつ読みます。
He weighs 64.5 （sixty-four point five) kilos.
彼の体重は64.5キロです。
The circumference is 85.45 (eighty-five point four five) centimeters.
円周は85.45センチです。
Only twenty-four point two seven percent of women approve of this decision.
女性の24.27%だけがこの決定に賛同している。
西暦の年号
西暦の年号は二桁ずつに分けるのが一般的です。
1973年は nineteen seventy-three. 2018年は twenty eighteen というぐあいに。
His sister was born in nineteen eighty-six.2000年は twenty hundred または、two thousand と言います。
彼の妹は1986年に生まれました。
Our company was established in the year two thousand.
我が社は2000年に設立されました。
百の位
100 は a hundred か one hundred 、それ以降は数字+hundred です。
（以降、例文では英語は文字だけで表現します。数字は日本語でご確認ください。）
We picked a hundred pine cones.松ぼっくりを百個拾ったよ。
This house was built two hundred years ago.この家は200年前に建てられました。
10の位と1の位もある場合は ～ hundred and
10と１の位と言う方が聞き取りやすいです。
The tree is a hundred and twenty-three years old.この木は123歳です。
The winner has scored three hundred and fifteen points, a world record.勝者のスコアは215ポイント、世界記録です。
At the red corner, weighing two hundred and five pounds, Tiger Ishibashi.赤コーナー、205ポンド、タイガーイシバシ。
千～万の位
千の位も1000は a thousand か one thousand, それ以降は数字+thousand
で表現できます。一万は ten thousand、二万は twenty、三万は
thirtyなどと、それ以降10の倍数＋thousand 続きます。Thousand の単位の最大は
hundred thousand （10万）。
I found a thousand yen bill in my coat.コートの中に千円札を見つけた。
Do you have change for a ten thousand yen bill?一万円札を両替できる？
Population is fifty eight thousand.人口は5万8千人です。
千の位のもう一つの言い方
千の位の興味深い言い方があります。
例えば、1,500 は one thousand five hundred の他に、fifteen hundred
（15百）と表現できます。短縮できる上に、聞き取りやすいという利点があります。お金に関して使われることが多いです。
I make seventy-five hundred yen a day.私の日給7,500円です。
We can't afford to pay eighty hundred yen a month.私たちに月8千円の支払いは無理です。
10と1の位は続けてて二桁で表現します。（年号のように）
It cost only thirty-nine ninety-nine yen.値段はたったの3,999円だった。
分数、帯分数
分数には特別な名前があるのが分母は２と4の物は特別な呼び方があります。呼び方は名詞と数字にしておきます。

その他の分数は 全て形容詞の分子は数字、分母は序数 の順で言います。分子と分母の間に - ハイフンを入れると、分数だということが伝わりやすいです。上記の表の通り、¼（四分の一）はとone-fourthと言うことができます。⅗（五分の三）は three-fifths と言います。英語と日本語では数字の順序が逆になります。
Julio is three-quarters Spanish and one-quarter Italian.
フリオは四分の三スペイン人、四分の一イタリア人です。
Please add two-thirds cups of sugar.
砂糖を三分の二カップ加えてください。
They advanced five-ninths of a mile.
彼等は９分の５マイル進んだ。
帯分数
帯分数は
整数 + and + 分子 + 分母
のパターンです。
1½（一ケ二分の一）one and a half
5⅖ （五ケ五分の二）five and two fifths
という具合に。
同じ番号が続く場合 (ゾロ目）
２桁のゾロ目は double （ダブル）+ 数字、３桁のゾロ目は triple（トリプル）＋数字と表現します。
88 double eight999 triple nine （スリーナインとは言いません）
もちろん、数字を繰り返すのもOKです。

ゼロを O（オー）と言おう
桁が多くてゼロを含む数字を読み上げる場合は、「ゼロ」ではなく、O「オー」と読むことをお勧めします。
1002308後者でも正しいのですが、前者の方が絶対に読みやすいと思います。

また、あまりにも有名なのが、ジェーム・スボンドのコードネーム007。読み方は Double O Seven でしたね。
